First Visit: You must Register with the Peterborough Climbing Wall (this is compulsory to keep the insurance company happy, but it is FREE).
Under 18 years
Climbers under the age of 14 must be supervised at all times by a competent adult who is a registered climber at the PCW or book a taster with the instructor.
Climbers aged 14-18 years can become independent and climb unsupervised provided they meet the following requirements :
* They are competent at putting on a harness, tying onto a rope and belaying safely (the instructor will want to see these).
* The parent/carer visits the wall to see the risks and talk to the instructor.
* The parent/carer must read the BMC booklet "Young People A Parents Guide" to become an INFORMED parent.
* The parent/carer signs a Parental Consent Form.
If a youngster aged 14-18 cannot comply with these requirements, then the same rule as for under 14's will apply.
